It’s an honor to be recognized by the exact educators that use our curriculum on a daily basis. But, it’s even more of an honor to get to impact the education of students across the country!

Thoughts from STEM Sports President and CEO, Jeff Golner

“We see you MLB and NFL! Both of these leagues are reaching younger audiences with important messages. The MLB recently promoted academics with clever No. 2 pencil wrapped bats during their Little League Classic game. The NFL has plans to broadcast the Super Bowl on Nickelodeon this coming February, undoubtedly sharing more creative concepts to the young audience who will be viewing from that network.

This has me thinking… who is designing these children-friendly ideas? Do they have a background in STEM? The designer of the pencil wrapped bat certainly needed to know geometry and mathematics. The graphic artist who will be creating images and ads for the Super Bowl broadcast will need those same skills. We should be connecting the dots for our youth to show them that STEM and sports are closely aligned. Career opportunities are endless when you match up athletics and academics and we should be shouting these messages from the rooftops to show students the exciting future they could have in the workforce.”

MVP Spotlight

Clayton County Public Schools (GA) has been using STEM Sports curricula in their Summer Enrichment Program the past two summers and in classrooms across the district during regular academic instruction. The results speak for themselves. Students who were taught STEM Sports lessons grew their understanding of STEM concepts.
